My ANZAC questions

For my home learning I had to answer some questions about ANZAC day and these are my answers

1. Why do ANZAC Day ceremonies in New Zealand happen at dawn?

• Dawn ceremonies are held at the same time and on the same date that ANZAC troops first landed at Gallipoli during world war 1

2. Where is Gallipoli?

• Gallipoli is at the south-western end of Turkey

3. What do the letters ANZAC stand for?

• The ANZAC letters stand for:

•  A- Australia
•  NZ- New Zealand 
•  A- Army
•  C- Corps  

4. Why is what happened at Gallipoli on the 25th of April special to us as New Zealanders?

• Because it was where lots of New Zealand and Australian soldiers were led to their death because of an epic fail by British Commanders.
