Ice Cream in Team 12

On Friday sometime in November team 12 made ... Ice cream.

My group was called Berry slim blast and the reason why it was called that  because it helps people lose WEIGHT!!!! the stuff that we put in was raspberry,mango, strawberry and much much more.
as you can see in our group we have just have BOYS! After 2 hours in the freezer we and the boys tasted the ice cream and it tasted like poison berry ice cream but better, we might just be the next Tip Top.

kapa Haka

At kapa haka  have been enjoying it  because it is part of my culture. the things I find Kapa Haka hard is learning new songs  is hard for me.kapa haka means a lot to me because i am maori and other cultures.
If there is going to be kapa haka next year I will do it.

Lee Lee team 12 Mascot

During the holidays we were given a project to complete over the holidays. For our project we had write some facts about the Sumatran Tiger and write a back story and  pick a name for our tiger. I most enjoyed writing the facts about the Sumatran Tiger because I learnt about it as I was writing and it was very interesting learning about its species. The most challenging thing for me was making a back story because I didn't really know what to write about and how he came into our classroom. But in the end the tiger was named Lee Lee and it was chosen to be a girl.

Sumatran Tiger Homework

In the holiday we had been given a topic to research.  

Habitat

 It roams around the low ground of the forest or the mountain. 400-500 Sumatran tigers have been surviving at national parks. Sumatran. In the wild, the Sumatran tiger is found only on Sumatra in a large island in western Indonesia. 

Diet

Tigers hunt at night and they make one large kill every week and eat well with the kill. The Sumatran tiger eats a variety of foods like, tapir (known as a mountain cow but is related to the horse/rhinoceros) wild boar and deer, as well as smaller animals, like monkeys, birds and fish. I would say the Sumatran Tiger has a healthy diet.  


Threats

Sumatran Forest has become a threat because of humans who have destroyed alsmost 50 percent of the forest over 22 years.  The Sumatran Tigers other threat is animals much larger and stronger than the tiger.    

Now for GARY the Sumatran Tiger story, how he arrived in our class room. . .

There was a battle between the Chief of Sumutra (who is a large scary slippery snake) and Orhino (a large rhionocorus).  Orhino wanted to revenge the chief for slipping into their storage and stealing all of Orhino's village food and supplies.  The Sumutra chief  yelled out the danger code for his animal servants to quickly leave their home town because Orhino wanted to burn down their village.  In a loud voice the chief said "Shumbala!" The animals in the village scattered themselves across the world.  Some animals chose good places to live and some, not good places.  

Gary picked a really bad place to live and ended up in New Zealand and then he made his way to Hamilton and discovered Vardon School, JOKES! Gary chose wisely.  Gary is now our Tiger Security for Vardon School. Gary is also learning how to speak english and how to play with children (and not eat them).  Since Gary doesn't eat children, I have been able to have a good friendship with him.
